4. Have Wesley Matthews opt-in.

Another veteran, Wesley Matthews is a versatile wing player who can play both the shooting guard and small forward position. At 33 it is safe to say that the best days are behind him. However, he was still a solid contributor to the team last season.

He averaged 7.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 0.6 steals in 24.4 minutes per game. He started all 67 of the games that he played and he had a +13.5 plus/minus when he was on the court. Part of that was that he was playing with the starters but it showed that he was no weak link.

While he has always been a solid 3-point shooter with a career percentage of 38.1 percent, that number slipped a little this season. Matthews only shot the 3-ball at 36.4 percent but that was still good enough for fifth-best on the team of anyone who played over 10 games.

However, the best number for the Bucks is the $2.6 million of his contract. As mentioned previously, the Bucks have $137 million in salaries already with only 10 players signed for next season. They will be able to draft one player but need to get as many small contracts as they can.
