4. Guarantee Georges Niang.

Of the four non-guaranteed contracts the Jazz have on their books for next season, the only one worth guaranteeing is that of 26 year old Georges Niang. The 6’7″ power forward played in 66 games for the Jazz last season.

He averaged 5.9 points, and 1.9 rebounds in only 14.0 minutes per game. He has been with the Jazz since they signed him back at in the January of 2018, after being waived by the Golden State Warriors prior to the 2017-18 season.

In the three seasons that he has played for the Jazz, Niang has improved his numbers and playing time every year. He understands the systems and his role within them. His contract is also a key number for the Jazz next year.

Depending on the moves they make this offseason, there is a potential that there could be cap space available. However, if they do exercise Mike Conley’s team option, then his $1.8 million contract will be crucial for the Jazz to be able to sign quality veterans.

He is not going to move the needle a great deal but Niang is a good team man who is going to  allow the coach a level of flexibility. His 40.0 percent shooting from deep is always going to be helpful for a team during the long grind of an NBA season.
