3. Markieff Morris
In hopes of countering the move that the LA Clippers made by trading for Marcus Morris mid-season, the Lakers decided to test Markieff Morris and sign him, after he got waived in late February by the Detroit Pistons.
Even though Markieff’s role on the Lakers was much smaller than Marcus’ on the Clippers, he seemed to positively affect the team more than his twin brother even did. He proved to be an invaluable member of the championship-winning squad and a fan favorite.
Keef did not contribute by scoring the basketball all that much. What he brought to the table, though, was toughness, hustle and resilience. His effectiveness at shooting the 3-point bomb, at 42 percent throughout the playoffs, also helped the team during times of struggle.
Morris seemed to click with the team instantly. As a result, there is a very high chance that we see him suit up in purple and gold at the start of the 2020-21 NBA Season.
The lakers will actively look to improve this current roster by bringing in a variety of free agents. Consequently, offering Morris anything over the minimum seems like a longshot. If Markieff chooses to accept a deal as such, the organization would be lucky to have him back.
