Philadelphia 76ers: 5 roster moves they must make
4. Use draft picks well
As mentioned earlier, the 76ers have five picks in the upcoming draft. They would have only had four second-round picks but the OKC Thunder conveyed their 2020 first-round selection due to finishing ninth in the league. The pick was top ten protected.
The 76ers are going to be very busy on draft night with trades where they will include one or more of their second-round picks in deals. However, they should keep their first-round pick and use it on a high-risk, high-reward player.
The 76ers are in win-now mode and need to find a player who fits their needs of a shot maker in tough situations. Tyrese Maxey is very unfinished, some might even say that he is raw. However, give him a preseason with an NBA team and things may start to click.
Another option for the 76ers is the undersized Tyrell Terry out of Stanford. He is a terrific playmaker and a good shooter but was only 155 pounds when the offseason started. He has reportedly put on more muscle and is now weighing in at 170 pounds.
Terry would be a different look to the team when Simmons takes a break. Standing nine inches shorter than the star and possessing a tremendous shot, teams would need to adjust the defense to compensate.
