The New Orleans Pelicans are wondering what’s ahead in the future. The development of Zion Williamson makes the next season hard to wait for.

All the greats are consistent. The New Orleans Pelicans have Zion Williamson who as a rookie averaged 22.5 points per game.

To be able to boost his scoring average to 25 points per game or more, Williamson has to be able to show development. He has to show that he can score at will.

In his rookie year he has shown he is the real deal. In the second year, we expect that he will show he can score with the best of them. The third season is a culmination of the first two seasons.

What will keep Williamson around for a long time is his strength. When his hops disappear his ability to muscle you will be his bread and butter. Strength is tricky. How can you score with just strength?

Finesse has proven to be the tougher route in terms of scoring. You have to be able to be efficient while making tough shots. Having strength means you can do anything you want. However, a player that can move around the court athletically with such a strength edge is a dangerous one.

Efficiency comes with strength. Being able to analyze information is developed when strength is acquired.

He is best suited to play power forward because of his inability to shot create and his size but he would be a terror at the three. Playing Williamson at the center position is unheard of but it is possible.

The center position is back and in the new decade, the best player might just be a center. For example, Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic will be great and we saw greatness before our eyes.

Zion Williamson has that chance also but his size is a problem. At 6’7″, he can’t play center all game no matter how strong he is.

If the Pelicans front office were super geniuses they would explore putting Williamson at the center spot. Williamson has the ability to rebound, play defense, dribble, he has an ability to make any shot he wants and back down anybody.

Having him at the center position gives him the ability to start the offense all the way from the opponent’s basket. The creativity that it ignites was unheard of. Now the Pelicans have a player that can play any position.

LeBron James can pass and that makes him great. Imagine Williamson with his versatility being able to pass effectively.

He is young and has proven to be able to use his talents for good. Giving him the keys to the offense as a playmaker at center is what should be in the minds of the Pelicans.

Williamson will be one of the greats. The reason is that he can dominate a game with pure talent.

He has not been able to create his own shot which is hurting his quest to conquer every position on the floor. Eventually, he will be able to score at will which is what this season is for.

What is in store for the NBA is unknown but the future for Zion Williamson is something you can’t wait to wake up for. If he continues on this path great things will happen for him and the New Orleans Pelicans.
