5. Draft Desmond Bane

Another player who could help the Brooklyn Nets with their shooting and passing woes is draft prospect Desmond Bane. He projects to be the glue type player who does a little bit of everything the team needs.

Bane is a terrific shooter, going at 44.0 percent from deep last season. He also has the ability to finish around the rim at a college level. It will be interesting to see if his lack of athleticism will impact his game against the top shot blockers in the NBA.

He does have a high basketball IQ and is able to find the open player. This IQ helps on defense, making up for his relative lack of athleticism. He is able to read the play and disrupt passes. He is a good team defender and is able to rotate to the right spots on most plays.

Bane would certainly not be a starter on next years Nets squad, but he would be an important bench piece. His lack of wingspan and athleticism could be hidden coming off the bench to attack tired starters or less complete bench players.

At the age of 22, having spent four years in college, he will be better prepared to make the jump to a contending team from college than a younger player. His versatility on defense will also help with rotations for this Nets team.
