4. Guarantee Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot

Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot has been a bit of a nomad in his short career. He has played for four teams in four years after being drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 24th pick in the 2016 NBA draft.

He was traded to the OKC Thunder in his second season as part of the three-team Dennis Schroder/Carmelo Anthony deal. That season he was then traded by the Thunder to the Chicago Bulls for a 2020 second round pick which was top 55 protected.

He left Bulls and signed on with the Cleveland Cavaliers at the start of this season before being waived prior to the season commencing. He then signed a two-way deal with the Brooklyn Nets before being waived on January 15th this year.

On the same day he signed a 10 day contract with the Nets, then signed another one on the 25th of January, before signing a two-year deal on February 7th. The second year of this deal was not guaranteed.

Luwawu-Cabarrot played arguably the best basketball of his career this season with the Nets. His 7.8 points per game were a career high and his 2.7 rebounds per game was an equal career high. He also shot 38.8 percent from deep which was the best number for his career as well.

The best number for the Nets however, is $1.8 million. As discussed earlier, the Nets have $140 million in committed salary and Luwawu-Cabarrot is on a very cheap contract. He also knows the Nets systems which will help when Durant hits the floor.
