2. The Orlando Magic must use their draft picks wisely

The Orlando Magic have two picks in the upcoming 2020 NBA draft. They have the 15th pick in the first round and the 45th pick in the second round. For a team who is trying to move up the standings, using these picks wisely is crucial.

The Magic should use their second-round pick on a project type player who might give them spurts off the bench. Their first-round pick is a different story. The question is, should the Magic keep this pick or trade it?

For me, it comes down to whether you believe in Markelle Fultz or if you don’t. If you believe in Fultz then the Magic could use this pick as part of a package to get an upgrade to their roster so they can be more competitive.

The other side of the coin is If you don’t believe in Fultz and believe he should be replaced. Fultz is a former No. 1 pick, so has talent. His shot left him during his time with the Philadelphia 76ers and it is still not entirely back. He was abysmal from the perimeter, going 26.7 from deep on the season.

Cole Anthony, a former high school prodigy could be taken with this selection meaning that the Magic do not have to go all-in on Fultz. The Magic gave up Jonathon Simmons and a couple of draft picks for Fultz, so they might see Fultz as an experiment that did not cost them too much, or he could be their future.
