Milwaukee Bucks: 2019-20 NBA season player grades
Milwaukee Bucks 2019-20 NBA season player Grades – Reserves
Ersan Ilyasova
Ersan Ilyasova began the season as a consistent rotation piece off the bench for the most part, but his minutes slowly faded away as the Milwaukee Bucks crept deeper into the season, especially when forward Marvin Williams entered the picture.
Ilyasova would average 6.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per game on 36.5 percent 3-point shooting, but the 33-year-old veteran from Turkey would find himself with the reserves in the playoffs. It’s safe to say that his limited contributions weren’t worth the $7 million that he was owed this season.
Player Grade: C
Robin Lopez
In his debut season with the Milwaukee Bucks, Robin Lopez didn’t make much of an impact, but it sure was entertaining to watch him vibe within the culture of the team. He was able to reunite with his twin, Brook, for the first time since they were teammates at Stanford University, continued to poke fun with the league-wide mascots, served as a key figure toward the traditional pregame wrestling routine, and adopted the fine celebration of sipping the tea after drilling a 3-pointer.
Robin averaged just 5.4 points per game on 49.2 percent field goals while trying his best to shadow his twin brother by launching shots from deep, but actually wasn’t too bad as he ended the regular season with a 33.3 shot percentage from the perimeter. As time went on though, it seemed clear that Robin wasn’t going to be a part of the Bucks’ plans moving forward.

Sterling Brown
Sterling Brown, an upcoming restricted free agent this offseason, didn’t prove to the Bucks that he’s worth re-signing. With soft averages of 5.1 points per game on 37.1 percent field goals and 32.4 percent from beyond the arc, he wasn’t near the type of player that the Bucks needed on the wing.
It’s highly likely that this was the last season that Sterling played in a Bucks uniform after Milwaukee drafted him in the second round of the 2017 NBA Draft.
Player Grade: D
D.J. Wilson
It was a relatively disappointing season for D.J. Wilson and his potential as he seemed to be stuck in coach Bud’s dog house. Wilson saw his minutes drop from 18.4 per game last season to 9.8 this season, almost a 50 percent decrease.
In those short-lived minutes, the 24-year-old out of Michigan suffered a career-low 39.4 percent shooting from the floor along with a career-low 24.7 percent from 3-point territory. His confidence levels seemed to have taken a major hit in his third NBA season, which is too bad since he did display some promising attributes at times this season.
Player Grade: D+
Thanasis Antetokounmpo
Giannis’ older brother, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, showcased his high athleticism throughout his first season with the Milwaukee Bucks, which included a few posterizing dunks, but the entire league knows the main reason why Thanasis has a roster spot within the team (hint: it doesn’t have much to do with his physical abilities).
