Milwaukee Bucks: 2019-20 NBA season player grades
Following a historically successful 2019-20 NBA regular season for the Milwaukee Bucks that unfortunately didn’t translate to the postseason, let’s grade the overall performances of the players.
It was truly an eventful 2019-20 NBA season for the Milwaukee Bucks that didn’t end the way it was expected to after a flaming hot start. It began with an 18-game win streak early in the season that skyrocketed their placement toward the best record in the league, and the Bucks never looked back from there.
Milwaukee would stay dominant on both ends of the floor while claiming wins with exhilarating performances and insane margins of victory. It seemed like they were destined to run through the Eastern Conference and reach the NBA Finals, but that was until a global pandemic halted all momentum and eventually caused them to enter an unpredictable bubble with 21 other teams.
Although the Bucks would clinch the No. 1 overall seed again, the bubble at Walt Disney World in Orlando did not appear to favor the team in terms of success on the court. Nevertheless, they did make headlines off the court by sparking a boycott across the NBA by demanding social justice in the wake of the Jacob Blake shooting that occurred in Kenosha, Wisconsin. It was surely an inspiring and historic moment that the Milwaukee Bucks organization should be proud of.
The Bucks would follow up by eliminating the eighth-seeded Orlando Magic in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, but then falling to the fifth-seeded Miami Heat in just the second round after being outplayed both mentally and physically. It was another frustrating postseason exit that has now left numerous looming questions surrounding the near future in Milwaukee.
Disney World is supposed to serve as a place “where dreams come true,” but that certainly wasn’t the case for the Milwaukee Bucks despite showcasing another masterful regular season. Now that the offseason is officially here, let’s grade the overall performances of the players as well as head coach Mike Budenholzer from the 2019-20 NBA season.
