1. Jimmy’s energy reserve and Goran’s health

Even though the Miami Heat won all but three games entering the NBA Finals, they fought incredibly hard for the majority of these outings. As a result, there was literally no rest for the wicked.

Since advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals, Jimmy Butler averaged 40.7 minutes per game. On the other hand, LeBron James and Anthony Davis had almost three extra minutes of rest time, at 38.1 minutes per night.

Butler was impressively aggressive during the first five games of the series and earned the respect of pretty much every NBA fan worldwide. His performances will be talked about for a long time as Jimmy Buckets nearly averaged a 30-point triple-double.

Unfortunately, his energy stock ran out by the start of the last game of the postseason. Butler had no will to drive and attack the basket, as the Lakers limited him perfectly and held him to a mere 12 points.

With Butler struggling, Bam Adebayo picked up the pace and posted a 25-10 double-double. That wasn’t enough, though, as the team’s leading scorer prior to the NBA Finals, Goran Dragic was hurt and couldn’t help the team with his services.

He did rush his comeback for a few minutes in Game 6, though he has pretty ineffective and moved quite slow. Still, his incredible selflessness is something that every Heat fan must be grateful for, especially when you add the fact that he is an upcoming free agent.

The Heat will certainly be back and they will be back even stronger. With a ton of cap space and a great organizational atmosphere to attract the big bees, we could be dealing with a future dynasty in the East.
