1. Give LeBron the respect he’s due

At year 17, what else is left for LeBron to accomplish? After becoming the first player in NBA history to win the Bill Russell Finals MVP trophy with three different teams while constantly climbing atop the statistical ladders, it’s pretty hard to think of ways James hasn’t succeded in professional basketball.

After accepting the Finals MVP award, LeBron gave a speech commenting about the level of respect that this organization deserves. Probably meaning that no one considered them as favorites when the season tipped-off, LeBron and co. defied the odds by lifting the trophy.

There could also be hidden meaning in The King’s speech and that has to do with the nonstop debate about who the greatest player of all time is. A title that most would agree belonged to Michael Jordan, the case for James being basketball’s G.O.A.T. is stronger than ever.

People often bash him for losing six NBA Finals or for co-creating a super team in Miami but the truth is that from a numbers standpoint, nobody even comes close to LeBron James and his greatness.

And now? What’s next for the kid from Akron, Ohio? The answer is plain and simple and that is to continue to build upon his legacy. His sheer tank-like body will hopefully allow him to play for a few more years at this level, gifting us with more beautiful basketball moments like these.
