Sacramento Kings: 5 offseason roster moves they must make
The Sacramento Kings have missed the postseason for 14 straight seasons. Here are five roster moves they need to make this offseason.
The Sacramento Kings finished 12th in the Western Conference this year. This is the 14th season in a row that they have missed the postseason which is the worst active streak in the NBA. This is a streak they will be looking at breaking soon.
Their core group should be developing enough to make this happen. Buddy Hield is one of the better shooters in the NBA, De’Aaron Fox, who missed the start of the year through injury, looks like a long-term fixture at the franchise.,
Likewise, Marvin Bagley will be a special player, all that he has to do is stay on the floor. He only managed 13 games last season but his averages of 14.2 points and 7.5 rebounds per game are a tantalizing glimpse of what he is going to produce.
Why the Sacramento Kings are making the post season next year.
If the Kings stay healthy they should end the 14-year drought next season, providing they make the right moves this offseason. They were only three games from making the postseason this year.
What they need is a year free of injury to their young core. This will go a long way to helping them develop the chemistry required on the court to take the next step. They are also going to be assisted by team further up the standings making big changes to their roster.
The OKC Thunder are most likely going to rebuild. The Portland Trail Blazers have locked in on their roster due to the size of their star players contracts. They could lose a big name or two. On top of that the Kings are going to add another young piece to their impressive core in the 2020 NBA draft.
