Golden State Warriors: Examining potential avenues at the center position
By Dalton Sell
The NBA Draft
This is where things get interesting for the Golden State Warriors. They have the No. 2 overall selection in the draft this year, and one of the top prospects is big man James Wiseman. If the organization intends to keep the pick, selecting Wiseman second overall to bring in a center would make perfect sense. However, whatever the case might be, reports suggest that the team is not very high on him if they do plan on using the pick.
Whether that is true or potentially some type of smokescreen, there is no denying the James Wiseman is the best option on the board fit-wise in this draft. Although he played just three collegiate games at Memphis this year, the 19-year-old averaged 19.7 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks per game, unquestionably making a strong impression.
Keeping an eye on the Golden State Warriors and the buzz surrounding the center position could prove intriguing as this offseason of uncertainty continues.
One thing that is certain, however, is whoever the team rolls with at the five next season, he will be helping them compete for another championship.
