1. Danilo Gallinari

Like Carmelo Anthony, yet another potential free agency signing is a former member of the New York Knicks. In fact, Danilo Gallinari was traded to the Denver Nuggets to acquire Carmelo Anthony in 2011.

In 2019-20, Gallinari was a member of a very surprisingly successful Oklahoma City Thunder team. Despite being the team’s second-leading scorer and a key reason behind their success this season, it seems like the Thunder are looking to build around their young talent.

As a result, this leaves players like Danilo with a tough choice to make. He can either accept a short-term, lower-value contract from the Thunder, or get his money’s worth in a team with cap space, like the New York Knicks.

Gallinari signed a 3-year/$65 million contract in 2017 and should be looking at something similar in the upcoming offseason. Despite him being 32 years of age, he remains one of the league’s most talented scorers and an elite shooter.

In a league where the stretch-four is essential, players like Gallinari are constantly being monitored by teams. Basically, every team in the league could use a Gallo.

In a young and promising New York Knicks roster, he can slide into the starting small forward spot, as Kevin Knox is currently practicing social distancing with the ability to start.
