Jevon Carter

Goal: Show off more weapons offensively

Like Aron Baynes, Jevon Carter’s future with the Suns feels murky, even though it would be the correct move to bring him back for another run. Carter had a fantastic 2019-20 season, even though the stats won’t show it. To call him a bulldog would be an understatement since he’s the whole kennel packaged into one 6’1″ point guard.

He showed an unmatched intensity and adrenaline on the defensive end, locking down the perimeter fairly successfully. He was able to make switches and get clutch steals in the perfect moments. Carter showed his shooting ability, which surprised a lot of like-minded fans. He proved himself as a reliable and efficient deep threat, with plays being run to find himself open.

The main issue with Carter is that he can’t show off much else on the offensive end. He’s an average playmaker at best and only seemed to show a well-structured shooting ability. Like Bridges, we want to see Carter develop on the offensive end, especially in terms of playmaking. Carter could become a threat if he was able to reduce his tunnel vision of sorts, and the second unit will need it.
