Milwaukee Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks may soon have a Giannis Antetokounmpo problem on their hands. After consecutive disappointing postseason trips, Antetokounmpo has just one year before he can hit free agency. The small-market Bucks simply cannot afford to lose a star of Antetokounmpo’s magnitude, so their plan to keep him satisfied reportedly involves making some top-heavy roster improvements, one of whom could be Buddy Hield.

Of course, Milwaukee would love to get its hands on Chris Paul or Bradley Beal, but if that is out of the question, Hield might be the next best thing. For a team that lives by a “let it fly” mentality from 3-point range, the 3-point champ would feel right at home in head coach Mike Budenholzer’s system offensively.

Hield’s lackluster presence on the other end of the court might make him a difficult sell for the defensive-minded Bucks. Regardless, there is no doubt that Milwaukee needs to give Antetokounmpo top-tier threats on the perimeter to maximize the team’s success, and Buddy fits the desired archetype.

The challenging part for Milwaukee, however, is piecing together a potential trade package. Eric Bledsoe is the guy they would want to get off the books first, but Sacramento might not want him eating away at budding star De’Aaron Fox’s minutes. While a trade seems unlikely, the Bucks should at least keep tabs on Buddy Hield’s whereabouts.
