Brooklyn Nets

With a healthy tandem of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving joining the lineup, the Brooklyn Nets are gearing up for an NBA title run next season. The one question hanging over the team has been if they should stand pat with their current roster or go all-in to acquire a solidified third star. If they go with the latter, Buddy Hield is an option that should be on the table.

Durant and Irving, on paper, are as dominant as a one-two punch offensively as they come in today’s NBA. Adding a third lethal scorer in Hield to the equation would bolster this offense beyond belief, without question forming the best trio in the Eastern Conference, potentially even the entire league.

In terms of assets to try and potentially pull off a mega-deal, Brooklyn has various options. Caris LeVert is among the most valuable, but Spencer Dinwiddie or Jarrett Allen could also be desirable pieces. The Nets have no shortage of assets; the only question is whether they plan on using them, which might seem unlikely.

Durant recently gave LeVert his stamp of approval as Brooklyn’s third star, saying he is “the perfect guy for us,” on the Old Man & The Three podcast. That type of reassurance from their star player might make Nets’ management hesitant to include him in any deal this offseason. Still, there is no doubt that if they brought Hield aboard, that offense would be virtually unstoppable, making him a desirable fit.
