Ranking the NBA’s 2019-20 season ‘Classic’ jersey collection
9. Portland Trailblazers
The Portland Trailblazers had a great lineup of jerseys this season, many of which were featured in the insane Bubble run Damian Lillard performed.
The jersey design is based on the 70’s Bill Walton-era Blazers and it’s a good design overall. The font and spacing of the number and name are unique and stand out among the hundreds of jerseys that have names spilled across the chest.
Similarly, to the Hornets there’s nothing wrong with these jerseys, they are a throwback to the 1977 championship Blazers team and that’s good but not as good compared to the rest ahead.
8. Golden State Warriors / San Francisco Warriors
With injuries to the Splash Brothers, the Golden State Warriors left the recently dominant team with a lottery season, and the now-iconic modern Warriors jerseys were left without a real team wearing them and this past regular season.
The San Francisco Warriors had the late great Wilt Chamberlain in these getups and instead of the yellow, blue and red they use to sport these new designs have adopted the more ‘Golden State’ look with the white, blue and yellow being the main color palate.
This design is great, but it has the same issues as the Pacers jerseys as no one would complain if the more iconic Warriors the dark blue “We Believe Warriors” jerseys.
The Warriors already brought back the 06/07 Warriors white versions in the previous season so why not complete the set? Hopefully next year they will.
7. Philadelphia 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers classic jersey is just classy. They are just an old car with a fresh coat of paint. It’s hard to not like these 70’s jerseys as they just scream Philadelphia basketball. The contrast between the ‘Seventy’ and ‘Sixers’ is eye-catching and including the full name not just “Sixers” and making it look good is an achievement in itself.
Docking points from their classic jerseys only because they haven’t brought back the ’01 Allen Iverson era black jerseys yet.
