3. Charlotte Hornets offseason needs: Guarantee Devonte’ Graham

This is possibly the best value for money contract in the entire NBA. Devonte’ Graham had a breakout year where he averaged 18.2 points, 7.5 assists, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.0 steals in 35.1 minutes per game.

This is incredible production for a player who is only being paid $1.4 million for the season. The reason for this is the previous season Graham only averaged 4.7 points, 2.6 assists, and 1.4 rebounds in 14.7 minutes per game.

Graham is also keeping the highest-paid Hornet, Batum out of the rotation such is the chemistry he has with his backcourt mate, Rozier. Graham’s meteoric rise has been a true blessing as the Hornets have found a player for the future.

What is truly amazing for the Hornets is that Graham is only going to cost the franchise $1.6 million next season. The front office will guarantee this number as soon as they possibly can as Graham is a big part of their future.

The Hornets will have to pay Graham in the next offseason but that is not going to be a problem. They currently only have $32.8 million on their books for that season. Considering Graham only cost the Hornets two second round picks, he has been an incredible find for the team.
