3. Move on from Kris Dunn

Kris Dunn came to the Chicago Bulls as part of the trade Jimmy Butler/Zach LaVine trade. He was taken with the 5th pick in the 2016 draft and he has never lived up to the expectations of such a high pick.

Dunn has averaged 8.3 points, 4.2 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 24.3 minutes per game. For a defensive-minded point guard, these are solid numbers when he is on the court. This is the problem with re-signing Dunn.

In his four seasons, Dunn has played 227 of a possible 311 games. However, in his three seasons with the Bulls, Dunn has only played 149 of a possible 229 games. He has missed almost a full season in just three years.

Dunn is now rehabbing from a right MCL sprain and it is unsure if he will be ready for the start of the 2020-21 season. For a player coming off contract with such an injury history, he is not a great fit for a team in a rebuild.

The Bulls already have Tomas Satoransky and Ryan Arcidiacono as specialist point guards. They also have LaVine and Coby White as competent playmakers as well. On top of that if they draft Avdija then they have less need of the oft-injured Dunn.
