Coaching problems

Lingering questions followed the Bucks into the offseason. Among them was coach Mike Budenholzer’s future with the organization. There were many objections to the coaching of Budenholzer in the playoffs. When the Bucks lost, it became apparent that the problem wasn’t just the team and what we see on a live broadcast, it was something internal like a coaching issue.

The Bucks exited the playoffs early in two straight years. Losing to the Toronto Raptors last year in the conference finals rained on the Bucks’ parade and gave them things to figure out. A second-round loss to the Heat in this year’s playoffs put a damper on the Bucks. Although the Bucks figured something out in the regular season, they still struggled to figure the important things out.

Figuring it out won’t be easy. Bad coaching was unquestionably a part of the reason why the Bucks lost the series. It was more apparent this season than it was last. Sure, the Bucks had the best record and the reigning MVP.

However, their playoff appearances weren’t impressive. Bud’s minutes and rotation were amongst the complaints. Bud’s problems aren’t nearly as long as Nate McMillan’s, who was fired following Indy’s elimination.

However, his list is far and wide on its own. Bud’s list is urgent and has problems that have to be addressed soon. For now, no one is sure, but there is hope. There was no answer or explanation for why the Bucks lost and in the way that they did.

But for those of us paying attention, Budenholzer was a big part of the problem on top of the fact that the team couldn’t pull themselves together on the floor and didn’t have their star.
