3. Marcus Smart

Marcus Smart is playing big minutes in the postseason with the Boston Celtics who are heading to the Eastern Conference Finals. Smart is averaging 38 minutes in the NBA bubble playoffs with 13.1 points per game, 4.2 assists, 5.5 total rebounds, and 1.3 steals. He recently made the first-team all defense and he’s been living up to the accolade by making needed plays at just the right time, including a clutch block in the fourth quarter against the Toronto Raptors.

Gordon Hayward is out with an ankle sprain suffered in early in the first round of the playoffs, Smart has been starting in all the subsequent games. The effort that Smart puts into every game is obvious, and his production on the court matches his drive.

Marcus Smart seems like the perfect fit for the Golden State Warriors. He plays well on the defensive end and can also put up double digits in points a night. He’s been averaging a 34.2 3-point percentage with 6.9 attempts per game, which is decent considering he has a good feel for when to knock them down.

Despite a good fit with the Warriors, the trade is very unlikely. The Boston Celtics are having a phenomenal season and are title contenders–we can expect them to keep developing Marcus Smart and the players they already have.
