4. Joel Embiid

Joel Embiid‘s season just finished with the Boston Celtics sweeping his Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the playoffs. Without Ben Simmons, Embiid had to carry the team in the bubble, averaging 30. There is no doubt that Embiid is frustrated with yet another disappointing season and rightfully so. Similarly, Embiid responded to Jimmy Butler’s comment on Instagram, “I know a place where villains are welcome,” with an agreeable “Damn right my brother.”

These comments on social media have led fans to question Embiid’s intentions for the future, specifically whether or not he will request a trade to leave Philadelphia.

Although Sixers general manager Elton Brand said “I’m not looking to trade Ben or Joel,” after the season Embiid has expressed his concerns and might put pressure on the front office to make a trade happen. A trade to the Miami Heat to join former teammate Jimmy Butler is also being speculated, but how would Embiid fit on the Golden State Warriors?

Averaging 11.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks, Embiid would fill the hole in the Warriors defense and provide some points in the paint. Shots from deep is an aspect of the game Embiid has been actively trying to improve but he would have to be a role-player on the Warriors to some extent.

One trade proposal by Bleacher Report has the Warriors trading away Andrew Wiggins and their second overall pick in exchange for Joel Embiid. With The Process not working for Philly, the draft pick could help them rebuild once again.
