3. New York Knicks

The final team in our holy trinity of a +500 three-way tie, the New York Knicks, always seem to find themselves in the mix for stars on the trade and free agent market, only to end up with Julius Randle and Bobby Portis.

The Knicks don’t have enough interesting high-upside contracts or draft assets to make an offer for Giannis. If the Bucks had to decide between taking the best stuff the Knicks could offer or lose  Giannis in free agency, they might have a tough decision.

2. Toronto Raptors

Finally, we’re in the ranks of the real contenders. Per BetOnline’s odds, the Toronto Raptors are second at +400. The Raptors might not have quite the trade capital it takes to make a move for Giannis, but what they do have is a max slot worth of cap space opening up in the summer of 2021. So even if they can’t make a trade for him, signing him straight into their space is absolutely on the table.

The Raptors have seen themselves as a contender in the Giannis Sweepstakes all along, and there’s no way that the way this season has gone for both teams makes them feel any less qualified to make a serious push to get him.
