3. Pick up Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk’s team option
Another of the bright spots for the Detroit Pistons during last season was Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk. Thanks to the injuries to Jackson and Kennard, Myhailiuk was pressed into greater service within the team.
He responded well to the challenge, averaging 9.0 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 22.6 minutes per game. He even started 27 of a possible 56 games. Unfortunately for Mykhailiuk, he was hampered by the lack of playmaking within the team.

He often started alongside Bruce Brown who is an incredible defensive player. As the teams starting point guard, he struggled on the offensive end. Mykhailiuk is more of a catch and shoot player so needs other players to help create the shot.
Mykhailiuk took 5.1 of his 7.2 shot attempts from deep, making 40.4 percent of them. When he is playing with Blake Griffin, Mykhailiuk is going to be a tremendous floor spacer which will allow the Pistons star to create.
Mykhailiuk is only due $1.6 million next season so it would make complete sense for the Pistons to take up the team option, given that they will be looking to load up in the 2021 free agency class. He will be a good sixth man behind Tony Snell and Luke Kennard.
