The Orlando Magic may have been eliminated from the NBA Playoffs, but a number of their players still had seasons to be happy about.

As has come to be the norm at this stage, the 2019-20 season was a turbulent one for the Orlando Magic. Each positive step soon followed by bad news or regression, despite some early-season promise that another postseason berth was going to be the minimum of what they should expect.

The Magic did end up getting that, but not much else. Their positive momentum broken when the season came to an unfortunate stop, before some early promise in the bubble gave way to a faltering finish. Taking a game off the Milwaukee Bucks was a nice way to begin that series, as was some of their role players stepping up and bringing some real energy and toughness.

But the season as a whole just didn’t see the organization take the kind of steps forward that they would have liked. Some of that was beyond their control, such as injury and franchises around them improving. What they can’t escape from however is knowing that they have essentially locked themselves into the core in place for the foreseeable future.

Which made the manner in which the year flamed out concerning. Let us not get too down about the season, however, as there were still some things to like about what the Magic produced. Especially in how they were able to show that they have some depth to their rotation now, with players like Wesley Iwundu really showing their worth.

A number of individuals also stood out, and had good seasons that either were a level above what they have produced for the Magic so far or else contributed to the organization staying in the playoff mix throughout the regular season and putting on as good a performance as they could once the playoffs started.
