4. Use the 2nd pick wisely.

It is hard to fathom that we are talking about the most successful team of the last five years holding the second pick of the 2020 NBA draft. However, thanks to the injuries and player movements discussed earlier, this is exactly what we are doing.

When the ping pong balls dropped the Warriors had the best chance of the first pick in the draft. History tells us that the Timberwolves won the first pick and now the Warriors have to figure out what to do with the second.

Their first option is to use and select the best player available. If they drafted a guard they would probably go for LaMelo Ball or Anthony Edwards, depending on who the Timberwolves selected.

However, it is this scribes belief that the Warriors should draft big man James Wiseman in an effort to solidify their center position. This would put immense talent all over the court, giving the Warriors five options to beat you.

Their other option is to opt-out of this draft and trade the pick in an effort to protect the franchise against an end of dynasty fall out, similar to that of the Chicago Bulls after the Michael Jordan era. They have experienced how it feels when you are not competitive and I am sure they do not like it.
