The Golden State Warriors hit rock bottom last season, but they will be back at the top next season. Here are 5 roster moves they need to make.

It is not often that a team that finished last in the NBA one season has a bona fide shot at returning to the top in the next season. The Golden State Warriors are willing and able to do just that in the 2020-21season.

The 2019 runners up endured the finals that nightmares are made of last season. They lost Klay Thompson to a knee injury which kept him out of the entire 2019-20 season. Kevin Durant went down with an Achilles injury and then signed a deal with the Brooklyn Nets.

This season the Warriors had injuries to Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, their last stars standing. As a result, they finished with a 15-50 record, by far the worst in the NBA. This is a far cry from the last five seasons.

Looking back at the 2019-20 season for the Golden State Warriors

The 2019-20 season was not without its feel-good moments for the Warriors. Watching Eric Paschall go from an unknown second-round pick to solid contributor was heartwarming. Likewise, watching Ky Bowman and Damion Lee fighting for their team was inspiring.

The Warriors also pulled the trigger on a trade that should have the rest of the NBA shaking. The crux of the trade saw D’Angelo Russell, Jacob Evans and Omari Spellman go to the Minnesota Timberwolves in return for Andrew Wiggins.

Next season Wiggins is going to have the most space on an NBA court he has ever had. He has also had 12 games within the Warriors system this season and has an entire offseason in which to learn more and get comfortable within it.

This offseason should be a quiet one for the Warriors. They have four players who take up $120 million of the $148 million in salaries owed next season. With that being said, they need to fill out their roster intelligently. With that in mind, here are five roster moves the Golden State Warriors need to make.
