Post-lottery Mock NBA Draft: One week later for the Minnesota Timberwolves
By Corey Rausch
Do not let his size fool you. Tyrell Terry would be perfect on a team with Jrue Holiday and/or Lonzo Ball to take the defensive assignments that would limit his effectiveness. This would leave him to do what he does best for the New Orleans Pelicans.
He is a sniper from the outside. He shot 40.8 percent from long range in college and thrived off of a system with heavy ball movement. Coming off a screen was his ideal situation but the masterful looks from Zion Williamson and Lonzo Ball will fit his game perfectly. He will also be learning from one of the best in J.J. Redick.
The Boston Celtics need more big men of the future and with three first-round picks in this draft, they can afford to take a swing on potential early. Aleksej Pokusevskhi needs to add bulk (standing 7’0” with a 7’3” wingspan but only weighing 201 lbs.) but the skills are there.
He is extremely raw and will need a lot of work but Brad Stevens has proven up to the challenge many a time. He has the handles of a guard and is a solid shooter. If he adds bulk and is coached up he would be a steal at this position. For a team with limited roster spots and multiple picks, bringing Pokusevski along slowly will be key.
Cole Anthony would be the perfect fit coming off the bench for the Orlando Magic. He is so good at scoring in so many ways and can run the offense in a pinch at a minimum. Anthony has tenacity and ability on defense but lacks the size.
The Magic boast so many versatile defenders that they can mitigate these issues. He could be the exact microwave scorer that this team needs off the bench. With very little in the way of dynamic offensive talent on this team, Anthony would immediately be given a chance to shine in the role he was born for.
