Post-lottery Mock NBA Draft: One week later for the Minnesota Timberwolves

Rewarded for going 8-0 in the bubble, the Phoenix Suns add one of the best scorers in college basketball this past season in Obi Toppin. This power forward will show flashes of some of the game the Suns’ fans loved from Amar’e Stoudemire. He shot 39.0 percent from 3-point range and averaged a clean 2.0 points and 7.5 rebounds.
Defensively, he is a complete work in progress but Monty Williams has already shown how much he can develop young talent. Defense is already something of a lost art in Phoenix as is so he will fit right in.
As the San Antonio Spurs continue to modernize their approach to offense Aaron Nesmith can help them take the next step. He is a hyper-efficient 3-point shooter (52.2 percent on significant attempts) and is a heady defender. He knows his role, has the ability to surpass it but will not ruffle any feathers. He fits the Spurs mentality perfectly and would make a seamless transition for a team looking to continue improving on their 28th ranked 3-pointers attempted this season.
Nesmith is the type of player that would have also thrived on the great Spurs teams. He is a great moving without the ball and will shoot the lights out. It is easy to imagine the next great Spurs team with Aaron Nesmith bombing from the outside.
Should the Sacramento Kings stick with the rumored plan of moving on from Buddy Hield adding a guard to their bench that has the potential to play alongside De’Aaron Fox will be essential if this team hopes to end their lengthy playoff drought.
Maxey is a stellar defender and shooter and would give the team everything they want out of HIeld without the price tag. This would allow them to diversify their roster makeup, offense and defense. Maxey struggles in transition but would not be relied upon as much in that regard with the dangerous speed of Fox already serving as the foundation.
