Post-lottery Mock NBA Draft: One week later for the Minnesota Timberwolves

Jahmi’us Randle needs to be developed but if he does he will be special for a team who has done a great job of unearthing gems. The Oklahoma City Thunder continue to develop wings into rotation players. Ramsey sets himself apart from their normal archetype.
The part of his game that is already developed is the shooting. He shot 42.6 percent from 3-point range but was admittedly streaky. If he can learn to be smarter about shot selection then that mitigates the issue. He also has the potential as a defender but needs a lot of work.
Desmond Bane is the type of player that every contending team wants more of. He is a brilliant 3-point shooter (44.2 percent) and is NBA-ready to contribute on the defensive side of the floor. Given the polarity of taking someone so raw with their earlier pick taking a finished product makes sense for the Boston Celtics.
The biggest downside for this pick is there is a solid chance that he is dangerously close to his peak already. But if the Celtics are adding a good team defender and knockdown shooter that seems like a great scenario for a team this close to the title.
Even after taking a point guard earlier the New York Knicks Nico Manion makes too much sense for this team. After years of lacking effective guard play and continuing to scrounge for answers adding two capable passers in one draft can revitalize this team.
Manion also could thrive playing alongside Haliburton in an off-ball role. He thrives coming off screens and launching threes. Playing the two of them together would add some much-needed ball movement to an otherwise stagnant offense. Now if only Tom Thibodeau can tolerate his lack of defensive potential. He is quick on that side of the ball but is likely only limited to guarding his position.
