2. Playoff P

That defense the Mavs has displayed has particularly being displayed against one of the Clippers’ stars, Paul George. Aka, “Playoff P.”

Per Elias Sports Bureau, George is the first player to shoot under 25 percent in three straight playoff games since Bob Cousy in 1960 (min. 10 field goal attempts each game).

Playoff P is a nickname George gave to himself during the 2019 NBA playoffs as a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder, which has been more of a curse than anything. This nickname has gotten him memed into oblivion in the last two postseasons and rightfully so.

His postseason play has taken a significant dip and is seemingly the exact opposite of his regular season play in which he had averages of 21.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.9 assists on 43.9 percent from the field and 41.2 percent from beyond the arc.

Aside from the nickname itself, some credit has to go to Finney-Smith for his hounding defense against George. George is posting an abysmal offensive rating of just 88, which is worst among all Clippers who have played in every game of the series and one of just two, the other being Landry Shamet, with an offensive rating below 100.

As long as Playoff P continues to show up, expect Dallas to maintain control of the series.
