New Orleans Pelicans: 3 NBA draft prospects that could fall to 13
The New Orleans Pelicans will select 13th in the first round of this year’s NBA draft. We’ll look at three players that could be on the board for them.
The New Orleans Pelicans will go into next season with the opportunity to add another lottery pick to their promising roster. Thursday’s NBA draft lottery saw the Pelicans getting locked into the 13th spot in the first round of this year’s draft. As well as this, they’ll have three second-round picks to help bolster the depth of this squad of players.
For a team that already has the presence of star players in Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson, the ability to add another top-prospect is excellent news for this up-and-coming team. And, this is probably a very good year to have a late-lottery selection as there are many questions surrounding the top players in this class. The short season has certainly effected how much we know about these players, but that doesn’t mean there’s not a ton of talent. Having the 13th pick takes the pressure off of the Pelicans’ front office, but will leave plenty of solid options on the board for when they’re on the clock.
This offseason will be a busy one for the Pelicans. Ingram’s contract situation is something that the team desperately needs to deal with, as he is so important to this team. There will also be plenty of talk surrounding potential trade routes they could take, as they look to move up a level and become a solid playoff team next season. This draft will give them a chance to add some real help to this team without damaging their payroll.
In this article, we’re going to explore three options that could very well be available for the Pelicans come the time of their first-round selection.
