NBA playoffs: 3 biggest storylines from Heat-Pacers Game 2
3. Victor Oladipo hasn’t been much of a factor in this series
Before the bubble restart, it wasn’t a foregone conclusion that Victor Oladipo was going to join the team in Orlando. But once he made the decision to do so, his presence was supposed to increase the Pacers’ chances of making it out of the first round of the playoffs.
But thus far, Oladipo hasn’t made his presence felt as of yet. In Game 1, he exited the game early thanks to an eye injury he sustained in the first quarter. He finished that contest with just four points, missing on both of his shot attempts from the field.
In Game 2, there was a noticeable jump in his scoring production as he scored 22 points. It is also worth noting that he scored 10 of those points in the fourth quarter. On the flip side of the coin, he shot just 5-for-14 from the field, including a 4-for-11 effort from 3-point range. While he also tallied four assists and two steals, Oladipo also committed six of the team’s 16 turnovers and he finished the game with a minus-2.
Being that Miami can send a variety of defenders at Oladipo on any given possession, he must find a way to be more effective. If not, this series could be over in four or five. games.
