NBA Mock Draft: One final mock before Thursday’s NBA draft lottery
By Corey Rausch
For a team with two stars on their roster selecting the best passer in this draft makes a lot of sense. Try to find all the holes in his game that you want but LaMelo Ball will enter the league as an elite passer right off the bat.
Standing at 6’7” he brings a ton of size to this team and is a solid rebounder for a guard. In 12 games in Australia, he averaged 17.0 points, 7.6 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 1.6 steals. His length will be disruptive, especially as he grows into his body more.
The shot is an issue for now, there is no hiding that. For him, this is a situation where he can be brought along slowly. Even with two All-Stars in place, the expectations for this team are relatively low in a loaded West. The work ethic is there and he has so much talent that it is worth betting on. He will find D’Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns so easily, making them even better from the get-go.
Ignore anyone trying to tell you there will be drama. That should have fallen by the wayside when LaVar Ball fell out of the headlines even as Lonzo Ball moved to a much smaller market in New Orleans. Forget about the last name. With the passes the youngest Ball will be throwing he is a man all on his own.
