Betting on the development of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Jaden McDaniels is all potential that has yet to be realized as of yet. He is 69” with a wingspan of 6’11”. The size is so impressive for a wing player and he has shown the ability as a spot-up shooter and versatile defender.
Of yet, he has not put it together. McDaniels needs to bulk up to be able to compete at the next level and needs to work on his decision making. This late in the draft it is worth a roll of the dice as the ceiling is so high.
With their second of three first-round picks in this draft, the Celtics pick up one of the purest passers in the entire class. Nico Mannion He has such a high basketball IQ and will thrive in the point guard-friendly system that Brad Stevens has installed for years.
He is not a versatile defender but his hands are active and he will put in work to make the best of the situation. He is special in transition as a long-range shooter that can end the break with a flare. Putting him in the role of Carsen Edwards or Brad Wanamaker is an instant upgrade.
