NBA Mock Draft: One final mock before Thursday’s NBA draft lottery
By Corey Rausch
For the Sixers, the best available shooter needs to be their number one option here and in free agency. Jahmi’us Ramsey is the call here. He is a high volume, efficient shooter from beyond the arc. As a freshman, he attempted 5.2 per game and shot an impressive 42.6 percent.
Ramsey also fits the team defense of the Sixers perfectly and profiles as an elite team defender if he is developed well. His motor is a concern, which seems to be a common concern in Philadelphia. However, if he can put it all together he could immediately make an impact for a team looking to get back on track.
The Denver Nuggets are loaded with depth and have the luxury of taking whoever is the best player available. Given Michael Malone’s proclivity for developing guards, Theo Maledon seems like a fun fit in the Mile High City.
Maledon wants to get better and will put in the work to do so. While he does not have the health risks of past Nuggets picks he could benefit from the red-shirt approach they tend to take, learning behind the plethora of guards on the team as he continues to get more comfortable. He has the ability to play well off the ball and is a smart passer.
