4. Greivis Vasquez

After a four-year college career at Maryland, Greivis Vasquez carved out a decent career for himself in the NBA. It started with the Grizzlies, although most of his time in the league was spent elsewhere.

With the 28th overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, Memphis selected the Venezuelan guard. He was taken using one of the picks the Grizzlies received for sending Pau Gasol to the Lakers.

As a rookie, Vasquez received a surprising amount of playing time, averaging 12.3 minutes per game over the course of 70 contests. He averaged 3.6 points and 2.2 assists per game, shooting 40.8 percent from the field.

Like many Grizzlies picks from a decade ago, Vasquez’s time came and went after a single season. In December 2011, Vasquez was dealt to the New Orleans Hornets for Quincy Pondexter, who would spend the next four seasons hanging around Memphis’ bench.

Vasquez turned into a brief full-time starter in New Orleans, coming an assist away from averaging a double-double during the 2012-13 season. He would also play for the Sacramento Kings, Toronto Raptors, Milwaukee Bucks, and most recently, the Brooklyn Nets. He has since transitioned into coaching, serving as an associate head coach for New Orleans’ G League affiliate, the Erie BayHawks, last season.
