Donte DiVincenzo

After an injury-riddled rookie campaign in 2018-19 limited him to just 27 games, Donte DiVincenzo had a bounce-back sophomore season. The guard averaged career-highs across the board, finding himself with a solidified spot in the rotation reasonably quickly because of his improving offense and top-tier defense.

However, since coming to Orlando, the second-year guard has gone cold, struggling to regain his footing from before the stoppage. In seven seeding games for the Milwaukee Bucks, DiVincenzo averaged 8.0 points on 34.4 percent field goal shooting, and a horrendous 20.2 percent from 3-point territory, while also chipping in 2.6 turnovers per game.

Even defensively, DiVincenzo has not looked the same, despite possessing one of the best defensive ratings in the league among all players before the hiatus. Typically Milwaukee’s swiss army knife, the former Final Four Most Outstanding Player has regressed significantly in the NBA’s restart on both ends.

DiVincenzo’s two-way contributions off the bench were an essential part of Milwaukee’s success this season, and his newfound struggles have undoubtedly hurt them over their 3-5 stretch. With the Orlando Magic on the horizon, the Bucks would certainly like to see the 23-year-old to quickly turn things around.

With a guard rotation of Markelle Fultz, D.J. Augustin, Michael Carter-Williams, and Terrance Ross (upon return), DiVincenzo will need to be very active defensively against the Orlando Magic. Hopefully, he can match that play with the ball in his hands as well to get back into his pre-hiatus groove.
