The LA Clippers are finally on the road to win a championship. All the build has led to this. The first-round matchup is against the Dallas Mavericks.

Patience comes to those who wait. Due to COVID-19, the season was postponed for a couple of months. The LA Clippers were on track to have a great March and finally looked like they were building chemistry.

The season restarted late in July and the team had to learn how to play together all over again. Players came in and out and the team has not been able to play as one yet.

While that is true, the Clippers have been able to win still and they were able to maintain the two seed. Now LA finally gets to compete for a championship.

The first-round matchup will be a great one. The Dallas Mavericks will face the bright-eyed Clippers. The Mavericks top players are young but they will still cause a problem for the Clippers.

Dallas’ youth means that the Clippers will have to be extra alert on defense due to their energy and impressive knowledge of the game. The Mavericks have the ability to change pace with Luka Doncic’s high basketball IQ in half-court and Tim Hardaway Jr.’s running motor. Doncic is the team’s leading scorer and Hardaway is the third leading scorer.

Kristaps Porzingis is the second leading scorer. His contribution is the key to the Mavericks creating any waves in this series.

The Clippers need Kawhi Leonard and Paul George to dominate not only to win the series but to get ready for the rest of the playoffs.

The Mavericks top players are in their first playoff series and this will be a learning experience neutral site or not. The Clippers will win this series but they have to play well as a dress rehearsal for the near future.
