Small forward: Andre Roberson

There may not be a better story in the NBA right now than the return of Andre Roberson for the Oklahoma City Thunder. After rupturing his patellar tendon in his left knee in January of 2018, but then suffered a number of setbacks ins his rehab and attempt at a return.

It wasn’t until two and a half years since his injury, in a preseason scrimmage game on July 10th, that Roberson made his return to a standing ovation from his teammates in an empty arena.

He scored five points and grabbed four rebounds in 12 minutes of play. Since then, Roberson’s only gotten closer and closer to a return to form while adding some new piece to his game that Thunder fans had yet to have seen in his five seasons with the team.

He’s flashed some of the same defensive prowess that garnered Defensive Player of the Year hype before his injury, while also knocking down three-pointers at a more consistent rate.

Roberson’s averaging just 2.8 points and 3.7 rebounds per game inside the bubble, but rest assured; he’s playing (and will continue to play) a key role for this Oklahoma City team. They were considered a dark horse team before his return, and that holds even more true today.
