Maximum chaos

If there’s one thing NBA fans love, it’s chaos. In a game where the best teams usually win and the best players generally prevail, there’s an incredible amount of unexpected havoc in the NBA, and the Portland Trail Blazers would be the team that could provide the absolute maximum levels of that bedlam in the playoffs.

The Grizzlies, Suns or Spurs would all be nice stories for their own varied reasons if they got into the playoffs, but nobody gets talked about as Laker Killers like the Blazers, and for good reason.

More. 3 fringe players having a moment in bubble. light

Having played without Jusuf Nurkic until the bubble started, the team was without its third (maybe second?) best player all season, and remember this team went to the Western Conference Finals a year ago without him. Restocked and with an emerging Gary Trent Jr. in the fold, the Portland Trail Blazers could be the eight seed that at least makes life a bit uncomfortable for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Any of those other teams would be drawing dead in that 1v8 matchup, even with the Lakers in their current struggling form, but the Blazers? Maybe they take a game. Or two, and once you get two, anything is possible.

The Blazers are a team that has the talent and firepower to strike fear even into very good and great teams if they can get hot, and they’re best positioned to make that happen.

So let’s root for the Portland Trail Blazers to get the eight seed, shall we?
