3 reasons we want the Portland Trail Blazers in the playoffs
By Duncan Smith
The transcendent Damian Lillard
Damian Lillard has become one of the most electric players in the NBA, somebody who is must-see TV on a nightly basis. After scoring 51 points against the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday night, he’s raised his bubble average to 33.0 points per game to go with 9.5 assists.
He’s deadly from everywhere on the floor, and he has the conscience-free range, accuracy and green light matched by only James Harden and Stephen Curry around the league.
Lillard is shooting 47.4 percent in the bubble from the floor, 38.6 percent from 3-point range, and these numbers are right in line with his season splits of .459/.393/.884.
He’s a joy to watch and he accumulates rivalries and beefs with other elite players and teams like few others. Damian Lillard has grudges with Paul George, Russell Westbrook, Patrick Beverley, almost certainly the states of Oklahoma and Texas, and an 8v1 playoff matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers would be sure to only grow his legend.
While Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns is absolutely up next, this is still Dame’s time, and we want to see what he can do with a surprise playoff run.
