Jerome Robinson (Washington Wizards)
Troy Brown Jr. is not the only member of the Washington Wizards making the most of the restart, as teammate Jerome Robinson has been just as phenomenal. Although the Wizards have not amounted to much success just yet, the play from both guards is a welcome sign for the future.
With season averages of 4.6 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game, Robinson’s impact was minimal to this point, but he has made the most of his newfound opportunity from the Wizards. In the team’s latest five-game stretch, Robinson looks like an entirely new player as he averaged 14.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game.
This fantastic play comes after Robinson was already having a career-outing with the Wizards following his trade from the LA Clippers mid-season. After averaging just 2.9 points with the Clippers in 42 games this season, Robinson is up to 8.5 points per game in 18 games with Washington, an impressive turnaround for the second-year player.
Robinson has undoubtedly had one of the more statistically-charged breakouts in the NBA’s restart to this point, serving as a bright spot in Washington’s lackluster restart outings. With five consecutive losses under their belt, the Wizards’ chances of earning the 8-seed are slimming by the day, meaning that Robinson’s run could soon come to an end. Still, the guard has undoubtedly made a name for himself in his short time in Orlando.
