Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot (Brooklyn Nets)

With their roster deprived of any household names heading into the restart, the Brooklyn Nets seemed destined to fail. However, despite not having Spencer Dinwiddie, Kyrie Irving, and DAandre Jordan, among others, this team has surprised many, one of the factors in that being Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot.

The 25-year-old has bounced around the league since his career began, Brooklyn being his fourth team in four years. Averaging a career-high 7.3 points in 17.8 minutes per game, the guard served as a nice role player, but nothing that would scream star potential.

However, in the restart, Luwawu-Cabarrot has put together some impressive performances in the Nets’ first five games with their roster reduced. In those games, the shooting guard averaged 14.4 points on 42.7 percent field goal shooting and 35.1 percent 3-point shooting, a much-needed boost for the Brooklyn Nets.

Although his averages appear promising, the big problem with Luwawu-Cabarrot has been his consistency. In the five games he has played in, the guard’s scoring pattern has been all over the charts, going from scoring 24 points in their first game against the Orlando Magic, to merely eight in their second game against the Washington Wizards.

This inconsistency continued as Luwawu-Cabarrot led the Brooklyn Nets to a significant upset over the league-best Milwaukee Bucks with 26 points, but scored just 4 points the next game against the Boston Celtics, and then 10 against the Sacramento Kings. Although the inconsistency is front and center, the guard is currently nearly doubling his regular-season scoring average in this stretch and looks promising when he is in rhythm.
