Terance Mann

The LA Clippers are poised to become a Finals team and if they get everybody included then they will be able to do that. One of those players is rookie Terance Mann.

The team made sure that he was the one that broke the Clippers franchise record in 3-pointers made. For a rookie, something like that is a great morale booster.

More from Hoops Habit

Mann may have games where he doesn’t even play like in the Phoenix or Dallas game but he will always be ready since he is a professional.

What can Mann do though for this team you may ask? He will be another athletic defender. Guarding Devin Booker may be too great of a task to ask of the rookie but his energy could have been a change of pace to the other defenders the Clippers threw at him.

Mann’s only assignment would have been to follow Booker everywhere and that would have opened things up for other offensive players.

Lack of ability to shoot threes means the ball is not flowing. Making 25 threes in your last game to only making eight the next means there was no playmaking in the next game. Against Dallas, they made 14 threes which is a step up.

Mann has playmaking ability that could help the Clippers in their quest to become more consistent.

Getting more players involved now will be necessary for team success. Building experience for everybody in these games helps prevent slumps like the one we saw against Phoenix.

A player like Mann who was your recent first-round pick could benefit from playing in live-action. With players due to go out because of COVID and injuries starting to happen, the deepest roster will win a championship.

The Clippers started out preparing by getting everybody involved. Coming to Orlando was a team decision and the team worked out as a group while preparing to go to Orlando.

Playing Mann may seem counterproductive but it will benefit the team in the long run.
