2. Jrue Holiday

On this up-and-coming team, Jrue Holiday is another veteran leader and probably the most important player on the floor on a lot of nights. His perimeter defense, along with Lonzo Ball, is the Pelicans’ most effective weapon on that side of the ball, and this has been on show in Orlando.

The win against Memphis and Holiday’s handling of probable Rookie of the Year winner in Ja Morant was excellent and was, ultimately, one of the biggest factors in the Pelicans getting their first win int the bubble. Holiday did have an off-game against the Los Angeles Clippers but in the three other games he stepped it up.

Holiday has always been a vastly underrated player and in a team with Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram that is always going to be the case. He is a model professional both on and off the floor and his importance to this team is as important as anyone else’s.

Holiday has chipped in with a handful of assists and rebounds in just about every game in the bubble as his intensity has been on point. The most important work that he puts in on the floor though doesn’t show up on the box score. Defensively speaking, there aren’t many people who can do what Holiday does and that’s why he’s so important to this team, he always steps up.
