The New Orleans Pelicans went to Orlando with no real expectations, but plenty to be excited about. Here, we look at three players who have stepped up in the bubble.

Since the NBA season restarted just over a week ago, the New Orleans Pelicans have seen a few ups and downs. Unfortunately for them, where results are concerned, there’ve been more downs. Through Thursday, the Pelicans have played four of their eight remaining regular-season games down in Orlando’s bubble, losing three. Their only win came in a vital matchup against the current eighth-seeded Memphis Grizzlies in what was an impressive display from this group of players.

A loss on Thursday to the Sacramento Kings causes visible damage to the Pelicans’ chances of making the Western Conference’s play-in game, however, there are still four more games for this team to put it right and end the season on a very high note. They’re currently 2.5 games behind the Grizzlies, but four other teams are also vying for the same goal.

There are six teams in the West who all have a chance of being in either the eighth or ninth spots. The good news for New Orleans is that they are one, but it’s going to be an extremely tough run-in now with them being behind everyone else.

There’ve been many areas for concern, such as plenty of turnovers and bad transitional play, but there have been plenty of positives to go along with this. A number of Pelicans players have impressed, and here were are going to look at the top three guys who have stepped up for this team in their first four games within the NBA’s bubble.
