Boston Celtics: What we learned about the C’s during their NBA restart scrimmages
Jaylen Brown is on a mission
Prior to the NBA’s hiatus, Jaylen Brown was having a career year in his fourth season with the Celtics, as his 20.4 points per game are the third-highest on the team this year just under Jayson Tatum (23.6) and Kemba Walker (21.2).
Not that he isn’t poised to do so, Brown was playing as if he was the best player on the Celtics during the team’s three scrimmages. His best game came against the Phoenix Suns where he went for 18 points on six of ten shooting from the field, connected on all three of his 3- point shots, and added one steal to his impressive night.
Brown is one of the best two-way players on the Celtics and in the league. His on-court leadership paired with his experience is going to be extremely invaluable for the Celtics when it comes to game time in the playoffs.
"“I just see a guy that’s continuing to add experience on experience. He’s a huge part, obviously, of our team and we’re going to need him to be good to have a chance.” – Brad Stevens, per Chris Forsberg of NBC Sports Boston"
We’ve seen Brown have some special moments this season and I would only expect that to continue throughout the restart and playoffs.
